In the Manga drawing contest, participants will submit their work to Mangalocity to be judged. There will be only one winner for the contest, but all works will be showcased in the online gallery. The rules are as follows:
All artwork must be submitted on an 8/11 sheet of paper. The fastest way to get it entered into the online gallery is to scan the image into your computer. In case you don't have one, a scanner can be purchased for less than $100.00 at most electronics stores.
Once you have your image scanned into your computer, visit our website and fill out the submission form. After you have payed the submission fee you will want to email your image as an attachment to your email to stephen@mangalocity.zzn.com.
Once your email is received, and your submission information is verified, your work will be uploaded onto the gallery, to be judged by the deadline date, which will be August 19, 2004. All works submitted after this date will be rejected. The prize for this contest will be $150.00. The size of the image submitted must be 780x664 or 203kb in size.
As far as the media used, it can be anything. You can use pencils, pens, or even a touchup using Adobe Photoshop or illustrator. Participants are also encouraged to use Cgi. Nudity will be accepted, but hentai and other explicit images will be rejected.
Most importantly, use your own works. Any works submitted that were created and or copyrighted by another artist will be rejected. Originality is the key here.
We are looking for artists with superior drawing skill. All art is to be drawn in the Manga style. However, just drawing in a generic Japanese style will not be acceptable. Participants must demonstrate their own unique style while still using the Japanese format.
